Pinchas Zukerman and his favourite chamber musicians live from the Verbier Festival!
The internationally reknowned violinist and violist Pinchas Zukerman performs here with Amanda Forsyth (his spouse, also a member of the Zukerman ChamberPlayers) and Angela Cheng whom he has notably toured in China and Europe in 2009.
The concert opens with Beethoven's well-known Spring Sonata, performed by Pinchas Zukerman and Angela Cheng. The classical melodies of this work, written in the Mozartian style, contrasts deeply with the second piece featured in this programme: Zoltán Kodály's Violin and Cello Sonata, a melancholic work with a strong gypsy accent, which is a distinguishing feature of the Hungarian composer's music.. To close this concert, the three musicians join forces to perform Felix Mendelssohn's Piano Trio in D Minor.
