Program notes

Don't miss the incredible final round of the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition (Quatuors à Bordeaux), live from the Opéra National de Bordeaux!

Created in 1999 by cellist Alain Meunier and Bernard Lummeaux, this event has quickly established itself as an indispensable reference in the world of chamber music and classical competitions. The Modigliani Quartet and Julien Kieffer currently serve as artistic directors of both the festival and competition, which take place in alternating years, grouped under the new name Vibre! An invaluable bridge between virtuosic young talents and the world's biggest stages, Quatuors à Bordeaux finds and promotes artists who seem destined to make a mark on the future—a high level of artistry guaranteed by the prestigious jury and rigorous selection process.

In this final round, discover the exceptional talents of the three quartets chosen among hopeful candidates from all over the world!
