About Riccardo Muti

In addition to longterm tenures with the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Teatro alla Scala, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the great Riccardo Muti has been a regular artistic collaborator with with the Vienna Philharmonic since 1971. Among more than 500 concerts together, Muti has joined the Philharmonic for numerous opera productions, guest performances, annual orchestral concerts at the Salzburg Festival, and six New Year's Concerts. In 2025, marking the 200th birthday anniversary of Johann Strauss II, Muti returns for a momentous seventh New Year's Concert.
