Program notes

Discover Le Parc, Angelin Preljocaj’s legendary ballet, commissioned by the Paris Opera in 1994, and a beloved mainstay in the company's repertoire ever since!

Drawing his inspiration from music by Mozart, the choreographer explores the subtleties of the codes of seduction in the idyllic setting of a French garden, with costumes influenced by the Enlightenment period. Soloists Alice Renavand and Mathieu Ganio glide voluptuously in this highly contrasted universe, stretched between the classical nature of the music, the resolutely modern character of the choreography, the incisive geometry of the scenography, and Jacques Chatelet’s virtuosic lighting design.
