Andrew Manze — Conductor

Program notes

The magnificent Chamber Orchestra of Europe continue their celebrated residency at Esterházy Palace, joined this time by maestro Andrew Manze! On the program: Haydn's Symphony No. 98, one of the 12 "London symphonies" and one that is often interpreted as a tribute to Mozart, who had died three months before the work's premiere; and the Symphony No. 4 by none other than Ludwig van Beethoven, a late Classical masterwork that is perhaps heard less often than its odd-numbered counterparts but more than merits a close listen in the hands of these brilliant musicians.
