Program notes
Following a rigorous preselection process across six global hubs — Tokyo, Vienna, New York, London, Rome, and Dubai — two exceptional violinists have been chosen from each location to compete in the Grand Finale in Dubai, representing Armenia, China, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, Sweden, the USA, South Korea, Germany, and Spain! An intense six-phase competition awaits as each artist presents performances of orchestral works and solo repertoire — as well as proving they can lead an orchestra — before a 25-member jury of leading conductors, orchestral directors, and festival organizers, all in search of the spectacular grand prize: €200,000 plus global exposure and the potential for future concert engagements all over the world. Even before the prizes are awarded, this grand final affords the competitors the priceless opportunity to perform with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and the Madrid Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as renowned soloists Itamar Golan and Alexander Chaushian.
Classic Violin Olympus is a revolutionary new competition that aims to transform the landscape of musical contests and provide a global platform for exceptional violinists of all ages and nationalities. Helmed by president Konstantin Ishkhanov and artistic director Pavel Vernikov, this extraordinary event offers a total prize fund of €320,000 and offers violinists around the world an unparalleled opportunity to shine on the international stage, compete for prestigious awards, and propel their career to new heights.
