Program notes

Be there for the grand finale of the Donatella Flick LSO Conducting Competition, live from LSO St. Luke's in London! Founded in 1990, the competition puts the spotlight on talented young conductors, helping launch their promising careers to new heights. Twenty young up-and-coming artists were chosen for this 2021 edition.

As the competition approaches its conclusion, three finalists conduct the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra in a bold and challenging program, full of rich melodies and thrilling tempo changes: the Overture from Verdi's Nabucco, an excerpt from Brahms's Variations on a Theme by Haydn, and Dvořák's Slavonic Dances. It's a perfect selection to let these young talents prove their mettle alongside one of the world's greatest ensembles!
