Program notes

Flautist Mathilde Calderini, oboist Philibert Perrine, clarinettist Amaury Viduvier—plus Rafael Angster on the bassoon and Nicolas Ramez on the French horn—are the brilliant musicians who make up the Ensemble Ouranos. Join them at the gorgeous Festival Singer-Polignac for a selection of repertoire you don't get to hear every day! The concert begins with French composer Karol Beffa’s Five O’Clock, exemplary of the renewed tonal movement in contemporary classical music, and finishes with David Walter’s clever arrangement of Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8 for wind quartet.
