Program notes

A concert designed to be enjoyed at twilight, that is what is on offer during this soirée at the Fondation Singer-Polignac. On the program, we find the reverie of Debussy's colorful melodies, with a sublime arrangement of "Clair de Lune" from the Suite bergamasque, performed by our evening performers: the Zahir Quartet. Composed of four saxophonists, from soprano to baritone, the ensemble displays the wide variety of sound colors offered by this formation in works by Ravel and Nadia Boulanger, including (Une autre) Petite suite by Graciane Finzi and Les Lunes galantes by Fabien Waksman, recent commissions from the Zahir Quartet. Accompanying them is an origami artist, folding live as the music unfolds...
