Program notes

A tremendous triple bill from behind closed doors at the stunning Fondation Singer-Polignac: Gérard Caussé, Nicholas Angelich, and Karine Deshayes in an evening of glorious chamber music! Angelich's piano gracefully blends with the warm timbre of Caussé's viola and Deshayes's gorgeous mezzo-soprano voice, during a program that kicks off in high Romantic style with two works by Brahms. The inimitable Caussé-Angelich duet then performs Shostakovich’s dark and dramatic Viola Sonata, the last work he ever composed.
