Program notes

BIG Nightmare Music, the new show featuring the brilliant classical music duo Igudesman and Joo's wildly popular act, now on a symphonic scale! Violinist Igudesman and pianist Joo have taken the world by storm with unique and hilarious shows mixing comedy, classical music, and popular culture. BIG Nightmare Music includes perennial favorites like Mozart Bond, Alla Molto Turca, and Cleaning vs. Riverdancing, along with music by Mozart, Rachmaninov, Bach, Vivaldi, Strauss, Beethoven, Igudesman, and Joo!

Their blend of classical music and comedy, laced with pop culture references and a wholly novel take on the word slapstick, is fueled by genuine, dazzling virtuosity. The New York Times, Corinna da Fonseca-Wollheim.

The two classical musicians met at age twelve at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England, and their strong friendship binds them together and informs their work as writing partners to this day. Equally at home in classical concert halls and in stadiums filled with thousands of people, their collective dream is to make classical music accessible to a wider and younger audience. Now with over 35 million hits gathered by their YouTube clips, the demand for their performances leads the duo to tour by themselves and with orchestras the world over.
