Program notes
Join internationally acclaimed violinist Daniel Hope and renowned pianist Behzod Abduraimov for the first duo recital of the 2025 InClassica International Music Festival! Together, they present a captivating program, starting with Dvořák’s Sonatina for Violin and Piano. Written during his three-year tenure as Director of the National Conservatory of Music in New York, Dvořák imbued his composition with the spirit of Czech folk songs, as well as melodic and rhythmic elements of Native American music. Alexey Shor’s dynamic Violin Sonata No. 1 follows, blending heartfelt lyricism with virtuosic brilliance as stirring violin melodies soar over an expressive piano accompaniment. The concert concludes with César Franck’s iconic Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major, written for virtuoso Eugène Ysaÿe, who premiered it at his own wedding celebration in 1886.
InClassica returns to the spectacular Dubai Opera for its fourteenth edition in April 2025, featuring a vibrant array of chamber concerts, recitals, and orchestral evenings! Globally hailed as one of the world’s foremost classical music festivals, InClassica unites astonishing young talent with the biggest music stars of our time in the spirit of international cooperation and cultural celebration. A two-week celebration of artistic excellence, this year’s festival is a special edition, honoring the 55th birthday of acclaimed composer Alexey Shor.
