Program notes

Don’t miss the Franz Schubert Filharmonia performing under the baton of distinguished maestro Tomàs Grau in a dynamic concert starring acclaimed cellist Edgar Moreau at the 2025 InClassica International Music Festival! This concert commences with Beethoven’s "Egmont" Overture, an expressive and triumphant work written to accompany Goethe’s tragic play of the same name. Alexey Shor’s Cello Concerto No. 3 is up next, a modern composition that balances virtuosic passages with compelling lyricism, showcasing Moreau’s musical prowess. The orchestra then performs Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 in F Minor, a symphonic masterpiece depicting a battle with Fate that the composer himself wrote was "better than anything I’ve done so far."

InClassica returns to the spectacular Dubai Opera for its fourteenth edition in April 2025, featuring a vibrant array of chamber concerts, recitals, and orchestral evenings! Globally hailed as one of the world’s foremost classical music festivals, InClassica unites astonishing young talent with the biggest music stars of our time in the spirit of international cooperation and cultural celebration. A two-week celebration of artistic excellence, this year’s festival is a special edition, honoring the 55th birthday of acclaimed composer Alexey Shor.
