Program notes

Live on medici.tv, Khatia Buniatishvili takes to the stage of the Salle des Combins Verbier Festival 2015 in a concert honoring Ravel, Liszt and Stravinsky.

The legendary Georgian pianist has come a long way since her debut at the Carnegie Hall in 2008. Being a part of the new generation of pianists performing at major festivals, she plays regularly with renowned orchestras such as the Philharmonic Orchestra of Saint Petersburg, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

She interprets Gaspard de la nuit by Maurice Ravel along with several works by Liszt – a composer with whom she particularly devoted his first recording – and the Three Movements from Petrouchka by Stravinsky.
