The Quatuor Elmire interprets Dutilleux and Brahms

Festival Singer-Polignac

Program notes

Let yourself be swept away on the strings of the Quatuor Elmire over the course of this marvelous concert from the Festival Singer-Polignac! Henri Dutilleux’s mysterious String Quartet, “Ainsi la nuit” ("Thus the night"), begins the festivities before virtuoso pianist Jean-Paul Gasparian joins the fantastic four to interpret a work in sharp contrast to the previous one: Brahms’s Piano Quintet Op. 34, one of the crown jewels of the great composer's oeuvre.
