Program notes

An exclusive trio, gathering Valeriy Sokolov and Khatia Buniatishvili – two of the most in demand young artists on the classical music stage – and the cellist Mischa Maisky. The programme features some of the most beautiful works for piano and cello of the French repertoire, by Franck and Fauré; Valeriy Sokolov join the two musicians for the second part of the concert which displays Shostakovich's Trio No. 2.
