Program notes

As part of their European tour, the Guangzhou Symphony Youth Orchestra, one of China's premier youth ensembles, and an affiliate of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, makes a special appearance at the 30th anniversary edition of the Verbier Festival! The orchestra, which features over 100 musicians aged 9 to 20, performs works by two contemporary composers—Grammy-nominated Chinese-American composer Zhou Tian and widely influential Chinese-French composer Chen Qigang—as well as Manuel de Falla's Three-Cornered Hat Suite, written for the legendary Ballets Russes in 1916.
