For the 2024 edition of the Verbier Festival, maestro and festival VIP Gábor Takács-Nagy leads the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra in a magnificent program that also features rising piano star Alexandra Dovgan! After Haydn's Symphony No. 1, a brief but luminous Classical-era gem, Dovgan takes the stage to perform the solo role in Grieg's lone, beloved Piano Concerto in A minor, which opens with one of the most famous motifs in the piano repertoire. To cap off the evening, the VFCO moves on to Brahms's majestic Symphony No. 1 in C minor, a masterpiece that took decades to compose but no time at all to find enduring success.
