Program notes

The wild natural beauty of Montana’s Beartooth Mountains provides a striking backdrop for a truly remarkable chamber music program. American cellist David Finckel and Taiwanese pianist Wu Han, one of today’s most celebrated classical duos and winners of numerous awards and honors, join forces with rising star American pianist Orion Weiss for a concert exploring four centuries of music for cello and piano by Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Debussy, and Britten. The evening also marks their début performance at the Tippet Rise Art Center, a one-of-a-kind arts venue—located on a working ranch!—that explores the connections between nature, art, and music.
