Frank Peter Zimmermann — Violinist

Program notes

Violonist Frank Peter Zimmermann is one of the world's top instrumentalist. His numerous recordings are celebrated by both press and audience and have already received countless awards. Alongside his career as a celebrated soloist, he also focuses on chamber music; young italian pianist Enrico Pace has been his pianist counterpart since 1998. Both musicians have just released a CD of Bach's Sonatas sonatas for violin and harpsichord – another acclaimed Zimmermann recording.

This documentary will centre on this recording: What does Bach mean to these two artists? What are their thoughts on playing old German music? What does the old and very Italian piano and what is so special about?
