Take a look behind the scenes of Puccini's La Fanciulla del West, an opera directed by Nikolaus Lehnhoff in Amsterdam in 2009. A recording of the opera is also available on medici.tv.
We can now finally catch a glimpse backstage of Nikolaus Lehnhoff's version of Puccini's La Fanciulla del West. Eva-Maria Westbroek, who plays Minnie, the saloon owner, takes us behind the scenes and gives her view of the piece and her character. It is then the turn of tenor Zoran Todorovich (Dick Johnson) and baritone Lucio Gallo (Jack Rance) to explain their reading of the opera and their analysis of Nikolaus Lehnhoff's staging. Eva-Maria Westbroek's superb performance also comes under examination.
