Cole Porter is one of the most famous American artists of the past century. Surprisingly, this new film is the first in-depth documentary to explore the life and music of this beloved American composer-lyricist.
Produced over the course of three years, the film Looking for Cole offers unique insight into the remarkable life of the “supreme sophisticate”. Leading Cole Porter expert Dr. Wilfried Van den Brande guides audiences through the documentary as both narrator and star performer. Celebrated for his work on Porter’s music, Van den Brande is known particularly for creating the largest Cole Porter anthology to date as well as an online collection of concert recordings of 325 Porter songs.
In Looking for Cole, Van den Brande journeys in the composer’s footsteps, discussing his work and life with numerous experts and sharing the stage with musicians such as Kim Criswell, Wayne Marshall, the WDR Funkhaus Orchester and the Brussels Philharmonic.
