This documentary takes us behind the scenes of the opera "Idomeneo," played at the Cuvilliés Theatre for its reopening.
Composed by Mozart in 1781, this three-act opera is inspired by the myth of Idomeneo. King Idomeneo promises Neptune to kill the first person he meets to thank him for saving his wife. Tragically, the first person he sees happens to be his son Idamante!
.The passionate performance of this opera, conducted by Kent Nagano, is presented to us in this documentary through excerpts from the opera and numerous interviews with Kent Nagano, Dieter Dorn, Jürgen Rosen, among others.
