This documentary takes us on a journey into the fantastic and mysterious universe of Marc Chagall.
With his iconic gravity-defying lovers and violonists and his unique and colorful paintings, Chagall has become a true artistic legend of the 20th century. Raised in a Jewish family in Belarus, painting enabled him to escape the poverty and provincial life of his youth and arrive in the Parisian artistic milieu. Influenced by Jewish-Russian culture and the French avant-garde, he eventually found his own personal style. The film follows Chagall's life through the eyes of an English artist, beginning in the Parisian artistic colony "La Ruche" and taking us on a journey into the magical world of Chagall.
