One of the greatest violinists of the twentieth century, Leonid Kogan left a profound artistic legacy that continues to inspire musicians worldwide. This documentary explores a weekend dedicated to Kogan’s centenary at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, initiated by Artistic Director Christos Galilaias. At the heart of the documentary is a round-table discussion with prestigious musicians, including Leonidas Kavakos and Viktoria Mullova. The violinist’s former pupil recounts memories of her teacher, revealing his impact on her career and musical approach. Mullova’s rendition of Brahms’s Violin Concerto not only showcases her virtuosity, but also becomes a touching tribute to Kogan’s artistry. Through concert excerpts and musical conversation, this documentary commemorates Kogan’s timeless influence on violin practice and performance.
