Meet one of jazz's finest stars, trumpeter Roy Hargrove, who prematurely and tragically left us in 2018, on stage at this 2017 concert filmed during the Jazz en Tête festival, in Clermont-Ferrand, France. A protégé of the great Wynton Marsalis, Hargrove became a fixture of the "New Generation" in the '90s.
In this live performance, he revisits jazz standards such as The Theme by Miles Davis, surrounded by talented musicians such as Justin Robinson on alto saxophone, Ameen Saleem on bass, Tadataka Unno on piano, and Quincy Phillips on drums, in an evening in which the bandleader also proves to be a fine composer himself...
