Program notes

You don't have to be a singer to learn something valuable in this highly anticipated event, a perennial favorite of the medici.tv community: the legendary Carnegie Hall master classes by three-time Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, "perhaps the most potent female singer of her generation" (The New Yorker)! Over three consecutive days, this one-of-a-kind artist takes a hand-picked group of promising professional opera singers on an unforgettable journey, sharing lessons not only about music and performing, but also about life itself — all served with her irrepressible joie de vivre. In this 2024 edition, Joyce DiDonato's talented guests include soprano Bridget Esler, mezzo-soprano Michelle Mariposa, tenor Ben Reisinger, and bass Robert Ellsworth Feng, as well as returning collaborative pianists Joel Harder and Justina Lee. Make sure to tune in for the second and third evenings next!
