First held in 1962, the Van Cliburn International Competition embodies a commitment to artistic excellence and honors pianist Van Cliburn’s vision for using music to serve audiences and break boundaries. It also aims to foster the careers of promising young pianists by supporting them over the three years following their prize-winning performances. The competition, which takes place roughly every four years, has welcomed hundreds of talented pianists and music professionals over its fifty-year history, and this year is no exception!
