Scottish soprano Lisa Milne studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Highlights this season include Elijah with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Sir Andrew Davis, Vaughan Williams A Sea Symphony with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and Sir Roger Norrington and Beethoven's Symphony no. 9 at the Verbier Festival with Charles Dutoit and at the BBC Proms with Vasily Petrenko.

Next Season Lisa returns to Scottish Opera as Donna Elvira in Sir Thomas Allen's new production of Don Giovanni and, on the concert platform, she sings Thea Musgrave’s Songs for a Winter Evening with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Martyn Brabbins, Mozart's Mass in C Minor with the SCO and Olari Elts and with the CBSO and Andris Nelsons and Schumann's Faust-Szenen with the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester and Daniel Harding.

She has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, New York as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and, at the Glyndebourne Festival, her roles have included Pamina, the title roles in Rodelinda and Theodora, Marzelline (Fidelio) and Micäela (Carmen). At the English National Opera she has sung Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), the title role in Alcina and Anne Trulove (The Rake’s Progress). At the Welsh National Opera she has sung Leonore (Fidelio) and she created the role of Sian in the world premiere of James MacMillan’s opera The Sacrifice. For Scottish Opera she has sung the title role in Semele, Adina (L’Elisir d’Amore), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Susanna, Ilia Idomeno and Despina (Così fan tutte).

On the concert platform, recent highlights have included Fidelio with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Levine and with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and Gergiev, Die Schöpfung with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Rattle; Beethoven's Symphony no. 9 with the Budapest Festival Orchestra and Fischer, Haydn's Die Sieben Letzten Worte Unseres Erlösers Am Kreuze with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Jurowski, Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Runnicles and Mahler's Symphony no. 4 with the New York and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras with Harding.

A renowned recitalist, she has appeared at the Aix-en-Provence and City of London Festivals; the Usher Hall in Edinburgh; the Oxford Lieder Festival; the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels and at the Schumannfeste in Dusseldorf. She is a regular guest at London’s Wigmore Hall.
