Sobre el programa...
Awarded the Giraldillo prize for best show at the 2016 Seville Biennial, Catedral is the very first choreographed work by bailaora Patricia Guerrero, a veritable trailblazer for new generations of flamenco dancers. This contemporary production, as catchy as it is theatrical, recounts the liberation of a woman oppressed by ancestral traditions, and reflects the choreographer's own ambitions: “Catedral was the professional and personal liberation I needed to be able to break with flamenco codes and find a personal language” (Patricia Guerrero). In a captivating staging by Juan Dolores Caballero, Patricia Guerrero and bailaoras Maise Márquez, Ana Agraz, and Laura Santamaría dance to the rhythm of poignant, organic compositions by Juan Requena and Agustín Diassera. A captivating show that reveals all the pride, power and sensitivity contained in the art of flamenco!
