The cellist Camille Thomas and the pianist Julien Libeer make their "Débuts" at the Flâneries Musicales de Reims in a concert dedicated to Schumann, Franck, Shostakovitch and Ginastera.
Camille Thomas is a French-Belgian cellist who was nominated at the French Victoires de la Musique in 2014. Invited by the greatest concert halls, she performed at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and at the Salle Gaveau in Paris, at the Victoria Hall of Geneve, at the Palais des Beaux-Arts of Bruxelles, at the Jerusalem Music Center and at the Konzerthaus of Berlin... Camille Thomas performs with a lot of orchestras around the world. Her first album was applauded by international critic.
The pianist Julien Libeer is a very apreciated chamber musician, he regularly works with Maria João Pires, Augustin Dumay, Camille Thomas, Frank Braley and Lorenzo Gatto. Even though he kept himself away from international music competitions, he still won the Juventus Prize in 2008 (the most encouraging european young solist) and received the title of "Young Musician of the Year" by Belgian medias in 2010.
This two artists interpret Fantasiestücke by Schumann, César Franck's Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major (arranged for cello and piano by Jules Desart), Shostakovitch's Sonata for Cello and Piano in D minor and Ginastera's Pampeana No. 2.
Camille Thomas plays a magnificent instrument by Ferdinand Gagliano (Napoli, 1788), the "Château Pape-Clément", on a generous loan from Bernard Magrez.
