Sobre el programa...
The Concours de Genève - International Music Competition, founded in 1939 as the Concours International d'Exécution Musicale (CIEM), is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious international music competitions. With the aim to discover, promote, and support young talented artists on the way to an international career, the Concours de Genève also has the distinction of spotlighting different disciplines in every edition. In 2023, string quartets and flutists have the chance to compete for the top prizes!
In this second of two semi-final flute rounds, discover the seven remaining promising flutists—aged 15-26 and representing an international field—in a chamber music recital to demonstrate their ability to develop a rapport with colleagues onstage, including a Baroque sonata chosen from a list, plus Chant de Linos by 20th-century French composer André Jolivet and a brand-new Trio for Flute, Clarinet, and Piano by Kevin Juillerat. Competitors chosen to move on to the finals will take the stage at Geneva's famed Victoria Hall for a concerto performance with the world-class Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
