The second appearance of Lars Vogt in this 2011 Verbier Festival: the German pianist performs Mozart's 16th Piano Concerto, with the Verbier Festival Orchestra under the baton of Gábor Takács-Nagy.

A heart-rending epic poem, Dido and Æneas is the story of the two characters' tragic and fleeting love affair. They are played by Angelika Kirchschlager and Benedict Nelson, with Juliane Banse and the famous Collegiate Chorale.

A masterpiece of the Baroque period, it was composed after one of the milestones of classical literature, Virgile's Æneid.
