Daniel Zimmerman en Jazz au Sommet

Considered one of France’s most recognizable jazz icons for more than two decades, the trombonist Daniel Zimmermann and his quartet entrance the audience at the Festival Jazz au Sommet during this performance in 2019. 

Comprised of his most frequent collaborators—the guitarist Pierre Durand, bass player Jérôme Regard, and drummer julien Charlet—the Daniel Zimmermann Quartet present a programme of its best loved pieces, featuring works from the album Montagnes Russes, and the band’s most recent release, Dichotomie’s. A close friend of musicians of great standing such as Thomas de Pourquery, Manu Dibango and Tony Allen, Daniel Zimmermann can be found on the world’s biggest stages alongside the jazz world’s most celebrated musicians. As a composer, Daniel Zimmermann’s music knows no limits. Drawing on influences from French pop-rock and the rhythms of African drum music, his smooth trombone playing is allowed to shine here to become the real star of the evening.
