Sobre el programa...
Meet Italian-born French pianist and composer Roberto Negro (Gloria E la Poetessa, Kings & Bastards…) for this 2018 concert at the Festival des Détours de Babel, where he lights up the stage in the company of virtuoso saxophonist Emile Parisien (Egyptian Fantasy…), and Quatuor Béla. The program pays a vibrant hommage to György Ligeti’s Métamorphoses Nocturnes, as well as the works of Ligeti’s elder, Béla Bartók.
Mixing jazz and classical music, this hypnotic performance is a testament to these artist’s strength of interpretation, as well as of the influence that these two composers still wield over the contemporary scene. Roberto Negro, a rising star in the French jazz and improvisation world, and Parisien’s passionate, high flying style are matched by the masterful balance of Quatuor Béla to create infinite musical richness.
In a nutshell, Negro’s Lune 3000 is an artistic journey that will charm jazz aficionados and beginners alike, inviting them into its fiery atmosphere, punctuated with deep moments of serenity. Its title perfectly illustrates the nature of the work and performance: spacy, sci-fi inspired, and out of this world!
