Sobre el programa...

Georg Nigl, Diana Damrau and Martin Winckler prepare to take the stage in a performance of Die Fledermaus! In this farcical score by Johann Strauss II, lead by Vladimir Jurowski and directed by Barrie Kosky, the orchestra of the Bayerisches Staatsoper bring the theatricality of Strauss’s music and Paul Ferrier's libretto to life!

In 19th century Vienna, the story takes place on New Year's Eve in a stately home where a series of misunderstandings lead to further mix-ups and mishaps. One particular, rather unfortunate misinterpretation starts with Dr Falke trying to take his revenge against his friend Gabriel von Eisenstein, and in doing so, forces Falke to cross the city disguised as none other than… eine Fledermaus ("a bat")!
