О программе
Documentary on dancer and choreographer Jean-Claude Gallotta, eminent representative of the new French dance scene.
Jean-Claude Gallotta was born in Grenoble in 1950, and followed Merce Cunningham's teaching in New York City before creating the Emile-Dubois group with Mathilde Altaraz in 1979. With the Emile Dubois Group, he invented his most famous choreographies, such as Ulysse, Mammame, Docteur Labus and Trois générations.
The dance company soon became the Centre Chorégraphique National de Grenoble, also known as MC2 today. Gallotta's dance pieces attach more importance to the dancers themselves rather than to the choreography. In 2009, he was news, with his interpretation of Gainsbourg's L'Homme à la tête de chou.
This documentary takes us behind the scenes of Docteur Labus's creation in 1987, by the Emile-Dubois group. The piece is about couples, from desire, to tenderness, without forget disappointment or even violence. It is made of four duos for men and women, and the choreographer tells us about the different steps and processes leading to the creation of the show.
