A journey through the life and career of one of the most talented pianists of his generation: the young Nobuyuki Tsujii, blind from birth.
25 year-old pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii's disability has never been an obstacle when it came to pursuing his remarkable career and passion, as it has never affected his ability to play the piano. If music can provide hope to anyone facing difficulties, it is widely highlighted in this documentary, depicting the life journey of 'Nobu', with excerpts from performances and behind-the-scenes interviews. His ability to communicate with audiences around the world has made him one of the most acclaimed pianists of his generation. Peter Rosen's cameras have followed him to various international stages, since his gold-medal triumph in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009, and to his early life, with interviews from his family with pictures from his early childhood. The film includes some works of Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Beethoven, Mussorgsky, and other piano masterpieces that Nobu plays brilliantly.
Another Peter Rosen documentary featuring Nobu is available on medici.tv: A Surprise in Texas, presents the thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, following the young pianists. Nobu was one of the competitors prominently featured.
