An intimate performance from the Shai Maestro Quartet, featuring Jorge Roeder on bass, Ofri Nehemya on drums and Philip Dizack on trumpet. Maestro, Roeder and Nehemya have been performing together for over a decade, in the trio format, and their collective experience is evident in this slick performance. Maestro’s playing style is full of melodic extrapolations of small ideas, full chord voicings and strong rhythmically. His compositions are bright, modern works, full of complex rhythms, straight and swing feels and lots of tension and release. The Shai Maestro Quartet put on a spectacular performance of these works, with tightness and polish in this unique location: the headquarters of French regional newspaper: L'Est républicain.
