Don’t miss the Tsinandali Festival 2023! Every year since 2019, the greatest performers, conductors, composers, and artists from all over the world have joined forces for 10 days in the magnificent village of Tsinandali, in eastern Georgia, to promote music in this region at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. The 2023 edition features a special celebration of the great Sergei Rachmaninov, marking 150 years since the legendary Romantic composer's birth.

First prize winner at the 2014 Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians and the 2016 Grand Piano Competition, Alexander Malofeev (b. 2001) has rapidly made a name for himself as one of the most talented and exciting young pianists on the scene today, stunning audiences at the likes of Tanglewood and the Verbier Festival. In Tsinandali he performs a typically unconventional program, including Samuil Feinberg's transcription of Bach's A minor Organ Sonata (itself inspired by Vivaldi), Mieczysław Weinberg's implacable Piano Sonata No. 4 in B minor, Scriabin's bewitching Prelude and Nocturne for the Left Hand (written following an overuse injury to the composer's right hand that would never fully heal), and a firework finish: Liszt's virtuosic transcription of the famed Overture from Wagner's Tannhäuser.
