Program notes

In November of 2018, the Moscow Conservatory hosted the inaugural “Svetlanov – Universe!” Festival, honoring the legendary conductor-composer on what would have been his 90th birthday and infusing the city of Moscow with a burst of 13 exciting concerts over the course of just one weekend! The sixth concert, entitled “Passions” brought together soprano Yana Ivanilova and pianist Boris Berezovsky for an emotional program of intimate selections by Nikolaï Medtner, alongside a Evgeny Svetlanov’s own Three Romances on poetry by S. Schipachev
