The Concours de Genève - International Music Competition, founded in 1939 as the Concours International d'Exécution Musicale (CIEM), is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious international music competitions. With the aim to discover, promote, and support young talented artists on the way to an international career, the Concours de Genève also has the distinction of spotlighting different disciplines in every edition. In 2024, it's time for composers and singers to take center stage!
In this final round of the Composition discipline, you'll get the chance to hear three new works for viola and chamber orchestra: "Nouvel Elan" by Léo Alibsetti, "Marionnette" by Caio de Azevedo, and "The past recaptured" by Sang-Min Ryu, all performed by the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève (Geneva Chamber Orchestra) conducted by Pierre Bleuse (music director of the legendary Ensemble Intercontemporain) and featuring soloists Lise Berthaud, Georgy Kovalev, and Adrien La Marca. Find out which of the three will win over the prestigious jury and take home First Prize!
