Program notes

The Concours de Genève - International Music Competition, founded in 1939 as the Concours International d'Exécution Musicale (CIEM), is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious international music competitions. With the aim to discover, promote, and support young talented artists on the way to an international career, the Concours de Genève also has the distinction of spotlighting different disciplines in every edition. In 2024, it's time for composers and singers to take center stage.

After gorgeous Opera and Lieder recitals in the Semi-Finals, it's the moment of truth for three three Finalists in the voice discipline: at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, they join the prestigious Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under Alevtina Ioffe to perform three arias from beloved operas. Only one can take home First Prize and 20,000 CHF — tune in to find out which singer wins the day!
