A highlight of the classical music calendar for decades, the Berliner Philharmoniker's season-ending concert under the stars at the Waldbühne returns to medici.tv in 2024! This year, the world-renowned orchestra and their chief conductor Kirill Petrenko welcome superstar pianist Yuja Wang as the guest of honor, performing a lesser-heard gem: Prokofiev's virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 1 in D-flat, an uninterrupted 15-minute whirlwind that shows off Yuja's superhuman talent. Also on the program are Mussorgsky's fabulously dramatic Night on Bald Mountain in its famous orchestration by Rimsky-Korsakov, as well as a trio of beloved works by Ravel: the heart-breaking Pavane pour une infante défunte, the rapturous Daphnis et Chloé, and the eternally thrilling Boléro.
